Our School Ethos
At Stanton Cross Primary School we hold an unconditional positive regard for our children and have high expectations for the behaviour of everyone in our school community. We strive to be a safe, happy and successful community where individuals are welcomed, accepted and valued.
Positive behaviour allows for a focus on learning and success in all areas of the curriculum and school life. Children have the right to learn in a classroom free from disruptive behaviour and in an atmosphere in which their self-esteem can flourish.
A focus on building positive relationships between staff and children builds self-esteem and increases confidence.
All adults in school should be good role models to children and to each other and be enablers of positive behaviour. Staff at Stanton Cross Primary School share an understanding of the language, non-verbal communication and consistent procedures we use to interact with our children, building positive relationships. Through focused teaching and consistent approaches, our intention is that children should ultimately assume responsibility for their own actions and be able to self-regulate their behaviours.
Our School Values
At Stanton Cross Primary our values are the foundations of our school community. We aim to provide a safe, happy and caring environment where children learn the importance of values that will support them to develop a positive attitude towards themselves, their friendships and their learning.
Our six values are: Ambition - Respect – Responsibility – Honesty - Curiosity – Gratitude
Our school rules
At Stanton Cross Primary School, we have the following simple and clear rules that apply to all members of the community.
- Be READY to learn
- Be SAFE
- Be RESPECTFUL
These clear rules will be referred to in every conversation around behaviour in the school and will be consistently reinforced, positively implemented and become embedded in all aspects of school life.
