Clubs and Activities
Currently we offer Tennis club on a Tuesday morning, before school. This will continue in the Autumn term and we are currently researching the best clubs to offer for our children, both before and after school. These clubs may incur a cost to families, unfortunately, but it has been found that "...attendance of an After School Club positively impacts a child's academic performance now and in the future" (Pembee, October 2022). We also feel that these clubs, classes and creative sessions provide fun and motivating ways for children to learn, play, develop new skills and gain new and exciting experiences. In addition, they can also help with parents busy lives.
Staff have been busy organising for various companies to join us for Taster Sessions in the first few weeks of school. This will give our children an opportunity to find out about the clubs on offer and what each will involve. Letters will then be sent home and families will be asked to sign children up. Children are allocated places on a first come first served basis. We presume, places for the clubs and activities will be in high demand.
Some of that clubs that have already been organised to deliver 'Taster' session are:
- Dodgeball
- Football
- Multi-skills
- Dance
Clubs will start mid Autumn Term 1. Please keep your eyes and ears peeled for what we will be having on offer.
In the meantime, if there is a club that you know of, or one that you yourself run as a parent, please do get in contact with Mrs Coote in the school office and let us know so we can organise a taster session.
